Okay. I’m still trying to figure out this whole blogging thing. Such as not sure what to write about, not sure if anything is even interesting. Plus I’m still trying to develop good blogging habits – which means posting regularly, and keeping images and text posted at nearly the same time – all 3 being difficult goals to maintain.
So I was walking with my two cats through the backyard… as they like when I do this, and I guess I like it too. As I walked along a slate path around my maple tree I saw something white and shiny with a bit of color. It was in the dirt and I dug it out easily as the recent rains must have dislodged it.
It was three-fourths of an orange, white and green marble. When I saw it I loudly announced to the cats, “It’s the “Go Dog Go” marble! I don’t believe it!”
Okay, probably not special to most people, but it’s just that I already have an image stored on my computer of this favorite childhood book of mine – “Go Dog Go”. And I have been thinking about this specific book these past few days. I have such a strong and clear memory of lying on my parents bed and just staring at the last picture where all the dogs are up in the tree having a party. I used to spend what seemed like hours staring at that picture and wishing I could be there too.
I’m writing a section for my website where I talk about myself and my favorite things, such as favorite toys, favorite colors, favorite books (!), favorite birds etc. It just seems like such a strange coincidence to find the “Go Dog Go” marble now, right when I have been thinking about the same book, knowing that I have walked this path thousands of times in the past 12 years. And all at once it appears.
Is this too weird to post? I’d love to hear about your coincidences too.
Take care,
Rachel
